Fasting Muḥarram is better than fasting the rest of the months just as night prayer is better than optional day prayer, due to the ḥadīth, “The best fasting after Ramaḍān is that of Muḥarram and the best prayer after the obligatory one is night prayer.”

𝘼𝙗𝙪 𝙌𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙙𝙖𝙝 𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 :

𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙝𝙚𝙩 𝙨𝙖𝙞𝙙: "𝙁𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙨𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙖, 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙄 𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙝 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 (𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙛) 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙩."

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ غَيْلاَنَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ الزِّمَّانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ صِيَامُ يَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ إِنِّي أَحْتَسِبُ عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ يُكَفِّرَ السَّنَةَ الَّتِي قَبْلَهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَيْفِيٍّ وَسَلَمَةَ بْنِ الأَكْوَعِ وَهِنْدِ بْنِ أَسْمَاءَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَالرُّبَيِّعِ بِنْتِ مُعَوِّذِ بْنِ عَفْرَاءَ وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ الْخُزَاعِيِّ عَنْ عَمِّهِ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ذَكَرُوا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ حَثَّ عَلَى صِيَامِ يَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى لاَ نَعْلَمُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ الرِّوَايَاتِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏"‏ صِيَامُ يَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ كَفَّارَةُ سَنَةٍ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ إِلاَّ فِي حَدِيثِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ‏.‏ وَبِحَدِيثِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ يَقُولُ أَحْمَدُ وَإِسْحَاقُ ‏.‏

Mishkat al-Masabih 2041

He said that when God’s messenger fasted on the day of ‘Ashura’ and commanded that it should be observed as a fast, he was told it was a day held in honour by Jews and Christians, and said, “If I am spared till next year I shall fast on the ninth.”

Muslim transmitted it.

وَعَن ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: حِينَ صَامَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ وَأَمَرَ بِصِيَامِهِ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ يَوْمٌ يُعَظِّمُهُ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَئِنْ بَقِيتُ إِلَى قَابِلٍ لأصومن التَّاسِع» . رَوَاهُ مُسلم

➡ Abu Haraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

The most excellent fast after Ramadan is Allah's month. al-Muharram, and the most excellent prayer after what is prescribed is prayer during the night.

Authentic Hadith's for:

𝙁𝘼𝙎𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙊𝙉 𝘼𝙔𝘼𝙈 𝘼𝙇 𝘽𝙀𝙀𝘿 ( 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝚆𝙷𝙸𝚃𝙴 𝙳𝙰𝚈𝚂) 👇

It was narrated from Jareer ibn ‘Abd-Allah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Fasting three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime, and Ayaam al-beed are the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.” Narrated by al-Nasaa’i, 2420; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 1040

Fasting on Mondays and Thursdays:

*It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) was keen to fast on Mondays and Thursdays. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 745; al-Nasaa’i, 2361; Ibn Maajah, 1739; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 1044.

Deeds are shown on Mondays and Thursdays:

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (Peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Deeds are shown (to Allah) on Mondays and Thursdays, and I like my deeds to be shown when I am fasting.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 747; classed as Saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 1041.

Abu Mas'ud 'Uqbah bin 'Amr Al-Ansari Al-Badri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Whoever guides someone to virtue will be rewarded equivalent to him who practices that good action".

[Muslim].

وعن أبي مسعود عقبة بن عمرو الأنصاري البدي رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ ‏ "‏من دل على خير فله مثل أجر فاعله‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏
